    Day 2 Tbilisi

    Full-day Tbilisi city tour, the capital of Georgia (5thc. A.D); visit Treasury of the Museum of Fine Arts, Triumphal Gate (5th-6thcc), Anchiskhati Church (in circa 522-534), Shardeni and Cotton streets, Sioni Cathedral (in circa 575-639), Synagogue (renewed 19th c), Souvenir shops, Metekhi Temple, 12th c., The Abanotubani, Narikala 4th c, The Holy Trinity Cathedral, Rustaveli Avenue,-where attractions such as the Tbilisi Opera and ballet Theatre, the Parliament, Rustaveli Theatre, different art galleries and cafes will pay your attention and provide a cosmopolitan atmosphere. Finally, a show-program of music, dances and songs about Georgian legends and culture. The performance lasting for 90 minutes makes alive the past of Georgia, its traditions, culture, mythos and characteristic feature of the people. During the performance unique Georgian wines and sweets will be served. The performance is without speech, only with songs and dances. It is easily understandable for everyone.
    After getting unforgettable impressions during a day, getting thermal water procedure in Sulfur Baths is going to be very relaxing part of the tour. It should be noted that, the balmy sulfur baths have hosted poets, writers, musicians, kings down through the centuries.

    Day 3 Tbilisi-Mtskheta- Kazbegi-Gudauri:

    We start our trip by driving to Mtskheta (2nd millennium B.C.), the ancient capital of Georgia. The town and its architectural monuments are included in the World’s Cultural Heritage of UNESCO. Jvari Monastery (6th c), Svetitskhoveli (11th c), - The unique murals of saints and Georgian monarchs are inside the main Cathedral. Souvenir Shops, Ananuri Fortress (16th-17th cc). Drive the sides of the dramatic Aragvi River Valley up to the Jvari Pass (2395 m) and then down into Kazbegi (1700m). Kakzbegi is a picturesque settlement overlooked by the biggest of all –Mount Kazbegi (5047 m). Walk up to Gergeti Trinity Church (4th c), Gudauri Ski resort (2100 m)
    Overnight in Gudauri or Kazbegi (B/L/D)

    Day 4 Gudauri-Gori-Ulistsikhe–Borjomi-Akhaltsikhe

    Drive to Gori, a historical town. Optional visit Gori Fortress a medieval citadel (13th c) and J. Stalin’s Museum. Drive to Uplistsikhe cave town dated to 7th c B.C. It contains various structures dating from the 2nd millennium B.C to Late Middle Ages. Drive to Borjomi. Have a stop to taste Borjomi mineral water. Afterwards drive to Akhaltsikhe. Visit Rabati, old town with its multicultural architecture, is well worthwhile. The Rabati also has a Synagogue, an Armenian and a Catholic Churches.

    Day 5 Akhaltsikhe-Vardzia-Kutaisi

    Drive to Vardzia, a rock-hewn complex (12th-13th cc), founded during the reign of Giorgi III and Queen Tamar. This wonderful place had a significant role in political, cultural, educational and spiritual life of the country. Drive to Kutaisi, dated back to the Argonauts times (13th-12th cc B.C), was the capital of old Colchida and later of Western Georgia. Visit Bagrati Cathedral (11th c), and Gelati Monastery, founded by the most famous Georgian king David the IV, the builder (1073-1125). The unique murals of saints and Georgian monarchs are inside the main Virgin Cathedral. These sites are included in the World’s Cultural Heritage of UNESCO.

    Day 6 Kutaisi-Zugdidi-Mestia

    A trip to Zugdidi. Visit Dadiani Palace. The representatives of Dadiani Dynasty were acquainted with world history, culture latest technical achievements. The palace keeps 4100 museum objects: Mother of God Holy Vesture, the icon of Queen Tamar of Georgia, Manuscripts from 13th -14th cc, miniatures, memorial relics of Dadiani dynasty, objects connected to emperor of France Napoleon Bonaparte-brought to the palace by the husband of David Dadian’s daughter, prince Ashille Muratt, grandson of Napoleon’s sister, Carolina. It’s time to get ready for the most exciting part of the trip-a journey to Svaneti, the region of the highest mountains and glaciers and the most abiding ancient traditions. Take some snacks for the long road, we will stop for lunch before arrival in Mestia.

    Day 7 Mestia / Ushguli / Mestia (45 km, 2-3 Hours)

    Drive to Ushguli 2200 m., the highest populated point of Europe. Visit Laghami St. George’s Church (7th-12th cc) and Svan Dwelling Complex, The church of Saint George in Nakipari (1120 A.D.), Ethnographic Museums of Ushguli. Ushguli village is considered to be the highest settled place in Europe (2200 m. above sea level).

    Day 8 Mestia / Batumi


    After breakfast visit latali and Lenjeri single-nave basilicas of the 9th-14th cc. Drive to Batumi. Have a free time in Batumi to take a walk across the beach in a famous Batumi boulevard.

    Day 9 Batumi / Tbilisi

    Have free morning in Batumi. 12:00 check out from the hotel and drive to Batumi Botanical Garden. Return to Tbilisi.
    19:00 Leaving Party at the National Restaurant with the Georgian folk songs and dances, which are greeting cards of Georgia. Add to this friendliness and easy-going hospitality and you’ll understand why a visit to Georgia is always a pleasure. Be prepared…and remember the best response to a toast is the word “Gaumarjos!” which translated as “to our Victory!”

    Itinerary: on this holiday we focus on cultural, historical and highlights. Some days we cover long distance transportation in order to reach maximum amount of sites to be seen over the period. During our trip we have optional easy walking. When walking in Davig Gareja some sections of the path are steep and rough.
    Accommodation: We offer various accommodation during this holiday: Some nights will be spent at small hotels and guesthouses. Some of these guesthouses have shared bathrooms (Tusheti, etc)
    Meals: FB are included outside Tbilisi. Dinner are served at the hotels and guesthouses. If anyone has a special dietary need, we recommend you to contact us in advance.
    Transport: We use a comfortable car or a minibus depending on the group size. All transports are air-conditioned.
    Guiding: All our guides are experienced and friendly and they have excellent knowledge of the sites you visit during your holiday. We provide English, German, France, Russian and Italian speaking guides.
    Weather: the best season for this holiday is from mid-May till November. The average daytime temperature in May, Sep and Oct, is about +20 C to +25 C and in summer time +28C to +35C. Some days are spent in the mountainous areas where the weather is variable. The temperature changes from +20C /afternoon/ to below +5C/+10C at night.
    Health matters: Everyone should be able to participate in this holiday, without any limitation of age and physical shape. We recommend that each person will carry a small personal first aid kit. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are in good health before you join the holiday.
    Visa: No visas are required for the citizens of the USA, Canada, Japan, Israel, Switzerland and the Countries of the European Union to Travel to Georgia for up to 90 days. A valid passport is needed. Citizens of other countries can obtain their visa at Georgian Embassies or Consulates in their Countries or upon arrival in Tbilisi airport. But please, note that there can be some limitations and we strongly recommend you to contact us for further information.
    Insurance: It is essential that everyone has a medical and personal insurance throughout the period of participating in our tours. The policy should include hospitalization, repatriation, medical expenses and loss of baggage. You always have to carry a copy of your insurance policy with you

    Clothing: Please take with you rain coat and light jacket, weather is changeable in Caucasus. Please also bear in mind that in some parts of these countries you should avoid wearing shorts and vest tops, better long trousers and shirts. Also we advise you to wear comfortable sport shoes, especially for visiting mountainous regions. As for equipment, don’t forget to take swimsuit, sun-glass and sunhat.
